FILIP MARONA

Filip Marona specializes in restoring and repairing antiques in the Chicago area and has participated in high-profile juried art and antique shows nationwide for over twenty-five years. His apprenticeship began in 1994 at Ile de France Antiques, a company importing and specializing in French furniture, before purchasing the business in 2001 and expanding his services and inventory to include European, Asian, and American furniture. Filip works with private clientele, architects, and interior designers throughout the Northeast and Southeast.

ANTIQUES AND ART

We proudly work with architects, interior designers, and homeowners from areas throughout the North and Southeast, including Chicago, New York City, Palm Beach, Naples, Washington D.C., Charleston, and Lexington. We specialize in fine 18th and 19th-century European, Asian, and American antiques and art. For over 15 years, we have been invited to attend vetted antique shows and are considered a trusted name in the high-end antique market.

RESTORATION

Filip Marona has over 30 years of experience in antique restoration and conservation, apprenticing under Robert Benveniste of Ile de France Antiques. Using only time-tested methods to ensure historical integrity, the Marona Studio team can handle large or small jobs, including chair repair, water ring repairs, pet chew damage, scratches, and dings. Our services include structural repair (chairs, armoires, dressers, etc.), frame conservation and restoration, refinishing and hand-rubbed finishes (French polish, waxing), veneer replacement and marquetry work, reproduction of missing carvings, color matching and faux finishes, gilding, upholstery (both hand and machine caning), architectural restoration, and custom carpentry.
